First Step: Letters to Congress and Senate
Recently, I’ve heard of two groups wanting their individual states, Texas and Vermont, to secede. I’ve also heard of more groups in other states. This puts a little bit of a lump in my stomach because the last time states attempted to secede it turned into the Civil War, the War of Northern Aggression, or the War Between the States (depending on where you are from). That’s the only war, except the French and Indian War, and the Revolutionary War, that the interior part of the United States, where I live, was actually in any danger.
So, my thoughts are that maybe a sudden secession isn’t that great of an idea. It may be a last resort, just not yet. I’ve noticed a lot of people that are angry with the government at this time. Most of those people have good reason to be. What can be done about it?
Well, whatever your grievances are, write them down in the form of a letter. Then, address it to your senator, your congressman, and Obama. After that, mail it. If you don’t get a response, write it again. Keep sending letters until you get a response.
